Information of how these plans would work are unclear. They criticized the proposal as a "slush fund," which Mnuchin and Donald Trump might use to bail out preferred business. News outlets reported that the federal government wouldn't even have to recognize the aid receivers for as much as 6 months. On Monday, Mnuchin pressed back, saying individuals had misconstrued how the Treasury-Fed collaboration would work. He might have a point, but even in parts of the Fed there might not be much enthusiasm for his proposal.
